-Rajasthan’s beautiful Pink City Jaipur was the centre of a clan of leaders whose forts and series of palaces in the city are major attractions. Recognized as the Pink City because of the colour of the stone used particularly in the walled city, Jaipur’s markets sell braided leather shoes, tie and dye scarves, blue pottery and other extrinsic wares. Western Rajasthan itself produces a suitable circuit, in the heart of the Thar desert which has formed its history, architecture and lifestyles.
Marwad (Marwar) the Land of Death, the biggest kingdom in Rajputana and the third biggest of the all Indian Kingdoms, after Kashmir & Hyderabad. Jodhpur, the former capital of Marwad state, maintains much of its ancient character. The Rathor clan of Rajputs met and ruled from the practically effective fort till their area comprised some 35,000 sq. miles making it the largest Rajput state.
